About this tool
Currency Converter turns an amount in one currency into another using daily reference exchange rates for more than 160 currencies, provided by ExchangeRate-API and updated once a day. Type an amount, pick the two currencies (popular ones such as US dollar, euro, pound, rupee and dirham are listed first, with full names for the rest) and swap them with one click. The result shows the converted amount and the rate in both directions, and rupee amounts use Indian grouping (₹2,39,993). A quick-amounts table shows 1, 10, 100, 1,000 and 10,000 at a glance, and a list shows your amount in the most-used currencies; click one to switch to it. Rates are saved in your browser until the provider’s next update, so the tool works offline with the last rates you loaded and does not re-download them on every visit. These are mid-market reference rates: banks, cards and money-transfer services add a margin and fees, so the rate you are actually offered will be lower when you buy and higher when you sell. Use the converter to see that margin before you pay it.
