About this tool
GPS Coordinates Finder & Converter gives you the exact latitude and longitude of any place, and converts coordinates between the formats different apps and devices use. Type an address, paste coordinates, use your current location, or click anywhere on the map, and you get the point in decimal degrees (18.520389, 73.856694), degrees-minutes-seconds (18°31′13.4″N 73°51′24.1″E) and degrees with decimal minutes, each with a copy button, plus the local time zone and current time there. It understands coordinates written in almost any common style, with or without N/S/E/W letters, so you can paste values from a GPS unit, a survey document, a photo’s metadata or a website. Click “Find the address here” to look up the nearest street address for any point. Format conversion, time zones and map clicks are worked out in your browser; only address searches are sent to Google through our server, and their answers are cached so repeated searches are instant. Coordinates use WGS84, the system used by GPS, Google Maps and almost every navigation app.

Avoid the common mix-ups
Most apps expect latitude (north–south) before longitude (east–west). Swapping them puts the pin in the wrong country.
South latitudes and west longitudes are negative in decimal format. Losing the minus sign moves the point across the world.
Six decimal places is precise to about 10 cm, more than enough for any address or meeting point.
“Use my location” on a phone uses GPS; on a computer it is often only accurate to the neighbourhood.
Photos from phones often contain GPS coordinates. See and remove them before sharing.
