About PDF to Excel Converter
PDF to Excel pulls the tables out of a PDF and puts them into an Excel workbook you can sort, filter and calculate with. Upload a PDF of up to 100 MB and our server analyses every page with pdfplumber, an open-source library that detects table grids and reads each cell. Every table it finds becomes its own sheet, named Table_1, Table_2 and so on, with the first row used as column headings. If a PDF contains no detectable tables, the tool still exports its text, one line per row with the page number beside it, so you can clean it up in Excel. It works best with PDFs created by software, such as bank statements, invoices, price lists and reports. Scanned PDFs are pictures of pages, so they contain no readable text; run OCR first. Tables without clear lines or with merged cells may need adjusting after export. The file is sent over HTTPS, converted, returned to you and deleted from the server straight away.

Tips for accurate spreadsheets
Get clean data first time
Scans need OCR first
Scanned statements are images and contain no readable text. Run OCR, then convert.

Tables with visible lines between cells are detected most reliably. Borderless tables may be split or merged differently.
Check numbers stored as text
Some values import as text. In Excel, use Text to Columns or VALUE() to turn them into numbers before totalling.
Extract only the pages you need
Large PDFs convert faster if you first extract the pages with tables.
